Kate Hedin

Kate holds a Bachelor of Music from The Cleveland Institute of Music and a Masters of Music from The Peabody Institute of Music, both in Viola Performance. With over 20 years of teaching experience, Kate has taught in more than 25 countries to a wide range of cultures, ages, and experience levels, from true beginners to aspiring professionals. She is passionate about pedagogy and places a high value on crafting lesson plans tailored to each and every student to best set them up for success.
In addition to teaching, Kate has a particular love for chamber music–both performing and coaching–achieving multiple awards in national chamber music competitions, and has performed with many string quartets (and other ensembles) across multiple decades. In her non-classical-music life, Kate is also a world-renowned swing dance instructor, judge, and performer.
